Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Christopher Walton TWO HAULAGE businesses have relocated to an industrial estate near Barnsley, South Yorkshire, with the help of incentives from the local council and the European Regional Development Fund.

Tanker manufacturer Road Tankers Northern (RTN) has opened a second Barnsley factory and is recruiting up to 20 staff this summer to cope with sales.

RTN is opening the new specialist manufacturing facility to expand and diversify its bulk liquid tanker production line.

Year-on-year growth has seen the firm's workforce expand from 88 to 126 in two years and the firm plans to recruit a further 15 to 20 staff this summer. It expects sales of tankers to reach £11.2m in 2013.

RTN operations director Don Mckelvie said the company now had an 80% to 90% share of the UK petroleum semi-trailers market. "We're now supplying most of the fuel distribution companies and we supply all four major supermarkets," he said.

At the same time, A Davies Transport has moved down the M1 from its old base near Dewsbury in West Yorkshire to larger premises in Dodworth.

A Davies Transport relocated to 55,000ft2 premises on the Fall Bank Industrial Estate, just off J37 on the Ml, in May. All 28 employees relocated to South Yorkshire, and three new jobs were created.

Sales manager Shaun Frain said: "We needed larger premises and the move has enabled us to look closely at the business and diversify, which is considerably strengthening our overall offer.

"We've fitted-out the 40,000ft2 warehouse so we can provide stor age and fulfilment. Our large fourbay garage means we're also able to provide fleet maintenance, a paint shop, servicing, repairs and mobile breakdown services. We've also just received an international licence, which allows us to offer overseas work."

Like RTN, the haulier received support from Enterprising Barnsley, part of the European Regional Development Fund, as well as funding from Barnsley Council.
