The booklet tells the story of how rubber vulcanization was discovered by Charles Goodyear in 1839, and how tyres have From July 1 1970 all new semi-trailers must be fitted with approval-marked triangular reflectors in order to comply with the Road Vehicles Lighting (Amendment) Regulations 1968 (S 1.1969 /1247). I recently visited the Epping works of Rubbolite—the manufacturers of commercial vehicle marker lighting equipment for many years—to see how the requirements of the new regulations were being coped with.
