Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• An application by Pleasureways (1955) Ltd. for an additional tour to St. Ives, and for the extension of the period of operation of two other tours was granted by the North-Western Traffic Commissioners in Manchester last week. There were four objectors but agreement between them and the applicant company was reached shortly before the hearing. An application was also heard by Shearings Holidays Ltd.---it operates from the same base in Altrincham and is run by the same board-to extend the operational period of a tour to Scotland. The objection to this was also withdrawn after agreement.

Mr. G. P. Crowe, for the applicants, explained that all the objectors had withdrawn on the condition that the vehicles used for excursions to Portmadoc and Barmouth would be included in the 12-coach allowance of the licence.

A director of both Pleasureways and Shearings, Mr. J. P. Beaumont, said that there were more than 600 people who would benefit from the extension, and approximately 375 people were willing to support the application for the St. Ives tour.
