Keywords : Man, Micky, Bilecik

T am appealing through I your magazine on behalf of Micky Chinok, an international driver serving a long sentence in a Turkish prison.

We are anxious to contact any of Micky's pals or colleagues, especially Richard Thorn, David Wested and Nick Bull.

We are also seeking information regarding Micky's dog which was left at the truckstop in Dabas, Hungary.

Micky is surviving in very difficult circumstances and conditions are extremely bad. He shares a cell with three Dutch drivers and they seem to get by on scraps of food and a little fruit taken to them by the English church in Istanbul every two or three weeks.

Micky was able to bribe a guard to allow him to use the telephone to speak to me on New Years Eve—he sent his best wishes to all that know him.

If anyone wishes to write to Micky, they can do so at the following address:

Owl Tip, Kapali, Cezaevi, D4 Bilecik, Turkey.

I would like to add that there are many drivers who are incarcerated in foreign prisons and we should ALL take time to lobby our MPs and the like to help these men to either get reduced sentences or, better still, released and sent home to their loved ones.

Danneke Neale Scarborough.

E Micky Chinok received an eight-year prison sentence after being found guilty of drugs offences four years ago, but strongly maintains his innocence.

Danneke can be contacted on 01723 584368—FA
