Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Commercial Motor's Wheel Loss Campaign is picking up momentum as support flows in from concerned operators.

"Our transport engineers have been most concerned about the whole question of wheel loss for some time following an incident involving one of our trailers over two years ago," says Allied Breweries, -which has donated 2250 to the research fund.

Cornish haulier and trailer rental operator Graham Mason is also concerned about the increased risk of wheel loss which he feels arises from the "disgusting" maintenance which some operators give to hired trailers. He reports "a surprising amount" of loose wheel nuts on returned trailers.

Commercial Motor's thanks go to him, Allied Breweries and all the other operators who have contacted us, including Herbert Pool, Imperial Tankers, C I) Lowe, Freight Force (Hemel), R L Wooster and Caudles of Sheffield.

If you want to support research into wheel loss, send cheques payable to Commercial Motor Wheels Fund to Commercial Motor, Room 403, Quadrant House, The Quadrant, Sutton,Surrey SM2 5AS. Your comments on the subject are also welcomed.
