• Avon bus company Badgerline has agreed to operate Bristol's proposed tram network, but will not be investing in the project.
However, the whole scheme is in doubt, as the city's council has voted against the city centre section of the system. The other arm of the plan is a tram route alongside the M4.
Brian Tucker, mananging director of Advanced Transport for Avon, the company behind the multi-million pound scheme, has admitted that backers are taking a 'wait and see' approach, and one has scaled down its involvement.
