Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Portbridge Transport International has bought Netherlands distribution firm J Stok International BY.

The Netherlands firm has a fleet of more than 100 vehicles and trailers and its head, John Stok, has been appointed to the board of PTI in Holland.

Portbridge was set up in 1983 to provide general haulage services between the UK, Holland, Belgium and West Germany and has depots in Felixstowe and Hull. Its Rotterdam office will be transferred to a nearby site owned by J Stok.

Portbridge, which operates around 300 vehicles and trailers, says the deal "will ensure the company is well placed to develop and improve its service throughout the early 1990s." It is also looking to make further acquisitions and extend its European coverage — including a move into Eastern Europe.
