• Land Rover increased its share of the off-road market in 1989 by 17.98% with 8,240 registrations: a 41.52% share of this sector.
Suzuki moved up into second place with 2,508 registrations, placing it just above Daihatsu (2,430), Toyoto (2,359) and Subaru (1,951).
No other manufacturer sold more than 1,000 vehicles in the UK off-road market, which grew by nearly 9% last year.
