• If UK sales of Feldhinder silos continue to expand at their present rate, the West German tanker manufacturer will set up a UK factory within the next five years. It is looking at sites in the East Midlands and to the north-west of Birmingham.
With over 20 tanks already in service in Britain and another 10 in build, the Hamburg-based bodybuilder sees a UK plant as a way of improving its after-sales service to UK customers.
Last year Feldbinder had a £16.2 million turnover and sold over 300 Silo tankers to take top spot in the German silo market, with a 40% share.
