NORTHERN Ireland Trailers (Scotland), P&O's BelfastArdrossan freight subsidiary, has doubled the capacity of the ferry which it uses on the crossing.
It has replaced a 30-trailer ship with the Beiard, a 6(1trailer ship refitted after being bought from a Danish shipping line.
The company has invested 1:3 million in the Belard. It handles over 20,000 loads annually with a fleet of 300 trailers.
• A 130,000-tonne Sealink ferry, the tiouivile Beatrix, is being built in the Netherlands to succeed the Primes Beatrix MI the Harwich/Hook of Ilolland route on May 1.
