Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

ANEW combined engine heater and battery charger has been produced by Power Frequency Heating, Ltd., Alexandra Road, Hounslow, Middx. Known as the Peregrine, the unit employs the principle of electromagnetic induction for heating the engine, and the same components which generate heat, for the engine also constitute a device which provides the correct current for trickle-charging the battery through a small rectifier,

The Peregrine consists of a Ushaped tube, the long arm of which carries the electro-magnetic 1 heater. It is attached to th side of the engine sump in a lo gitudinally inclined position so that when connection is made to an A.C. supply and the tube is heated., the engine oil is caused to cir culate through it by convection. .

Warmth from the oil is then distributed round the engine by conduction and radiation. This method, it is claimed, is more efficient than heating an engine via the cooling system, which includes a radiator for the rapid dissipation of heat.

Also available for use with a D.C. supply, the Peregrine carries a 10-year guarantee and has a basie price of £9 17s. 6d.
