DETA1LS of tours to be run this year by eight different coach operators have been given by London Coastal Coaches, Ltd. Southdown Motor Services, Ltd., is offering 18 home tours and five Continental tonrs. The home tours vary between six days and 18 days in length, the longest being a grand tour of Britain, and the Continental trips rang. from 12 days to 19 clays. An 11-day tour of the Scottish Highlands is advertised at £35 14s., and a 16-day tour of France and Switzerland at £61 19s.
Scotland is 'catered for by a number of concerns besides Southdown. Scottish Omnibuses. Ltd., offers 12 tours from London to various parts of Scotland: a six-day tour to Edinburgh
is priced at £16. Fifteen tours start from Edinburgh, three of which serve English beauty spots.
• There are to be five tours in Scotland operated by Ribble Motor Services, Ltd., commencing from London. A 13-day 'tour of the Highlands, penetrating as far north as Bonar Bridge. costs £36. In addition, Ribble offers four " Easy-Way" holidays from London to Blackpool, Morecambe, Ambleside arid the Isle of Man. An eight-day holiday in Douglas, with excursions, is priced at £16 19s.
United Automobile Services, Ltd., is to run a nine-day Scottish tour from London, passing up the east coast from Edinburgh to Inverness, 'across land to Fort William and south through Ardlui. Commencing from London, this tour is advertised at £22 15s.
A I2-day tour through the Lake District and Scotland is one of four announced preliminarily by Westcliffon-Sea Motor Services, Ltd. This is the longest the company offers. The shortest will be a seven-day trip to Devon at a cost of £23 2s. • South Midland Motor Services, Ltd., is to run three tours in the Wye Valley, one to North Devon and one to Fortheawl. The last-mentioned holiday includes accommodation at the Scabank Hotel and costa, £16,16s. All the South Midland tours are for eight days.
The West Yorkshire Road Car Co-, B2 Ltd., is to operate an eight-day and a 10-day tour in the Yorkshire Dales, based on Harrogate. The shorter tour is advertised at £19 2s. 6d., and thi.! longer at £23 12s. 6d.
Six eight-day tours are to be run [II'S year by Salopia Saloon Coaches, Ltd.. Whitchurch, Salop, and the prices listed are competitive. The places to be served are the Yorkshire coast and the moors, Devon and Cornwall, Edinburgh and the Central Highlands, Bournemouth, Ilfracombe, and the Western Highlands. The Edinburgh and Central Highlands tour is the most expensive at £16 18s. lid., and the Devon and Cornwall tour is the cheapest at £13 18s. 6d.
Motorways (Overseas), Ltd., is again offering a selection of tours to Europe and North Africa designed to attract those members of the public who prefer a standard of comfort higher• than average. The longestiour lasts 36 days and runs through 'Belgiuni, Germany, Austria, Italy. Switzerjand and France. The price is £194 55.
Certain amendments have had to be made to the itineraries of the Spanish, Italian, Moroccan and Algerian tours.
