Association's Metropolitan and south-eastern area entertained the Metropolitan and South-eastern Licensing Authorities and their deputies to lunch, the chairman, Mr. C. W. FL Sparrow, referred to the impartial fairness with which the Authorities dealt with the cases put to them. The advice given to the area was much appreciated.
Both Brig. R. J. 0. Dowse, Metropolitan Licensing Authority, and Lt.Cot. F. Gordon Tucker, South-eastern Licensing Authority, expressed gratitude for the prompt assistance they had received from the R.H.A. and paid tribute to the area chairman's work ia the past four years.

Hunter, secretary of the Northern Road Transport Owners' Association, last week, when Sunderland successfully applied to the Northern Licensing Authority to introduce emergency services on tram routes when the need for aug. mented transport facilities arose.
