WarehousingThe Undiscovered Opportunity takes place on 11 March at the Copthorne Tara Hotel in London.

Organised by the Institute of Logistics & Distribution Management and Price Waterhouse, the day is aimed at management responsible for the import and distribution of goods in Europe.

It will explore the opportunity of customs warehousing and how companies trading within EC countries can complete the necessary changes to their systems to comply with new VAT and statistics requirements. Other themes include excise warehousing for drinks and petroleum products and the impact on storage and distribution companies. PUBLICATIONS Studying trucks • A study assessing the strengths and weaknesses of the big seven heavy truck makers is available for £595 from London-based Euromotor Reports.

The Structure of the European Truck Industry: Stresses and Strategies for Survival and Success in the 1990s also looks at external threats and opportunities for Europe's £5.billion truck industry which it acknowledges is in crisis.

The module, available from Cheshire-based Truck-Lite International, costs less than £25. Operators who do not need the complete unit can buy the two security fixings separately for around £2 which they can fit themselves.

Radio Kenwood • Kenwood has developed what it claims to be one of the smallest 25W two-way radios. The TK-705/805 measures 140x40x161mm. It has 16 channels with a reception, anti-shock and vibration standard which, Kenwood says, meets US military requirements.
