and the lid is retained by a split clamp and wing nut. The lid must be fitted the correct way up, as there is a shelf on its inside that collects dirt. This must be emptied out every time the lid is opened.
The filter element itself is also held in by a wing nut, and if it is only lightly discoloured, Yas blows it out with an airline, using a face mask. At the top of the stack there is a rubber cone to keep out the water. If this is pushed down, its stays will reverse their direction, push it downwards, and block off the air intake.
