Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Forte Lubricants has introduced on the UK market a diesel fuel conditioner that, it says, has remarkable rejuvenating powers for contaminated and troublesome diesel engines. Forte Diesel Fuel Conditioner (DFC) is now available to the garage trade and commercial and fleet workshops.

Quality of diesel fuels has been falling over recent years as manufacturers try to convert an ever higher proportion of crude oil to usable fuel for internal combustion engines, says Forte. The result is a fuel with reduced stability, and higher levels of sulphur.

Tests, it says, have demonstrated that injector life is extended by a factor of six times by addition of DFC at the recommended dosage of 0.25%. It breaks down the binding agents in deposits of coke, so allowing the carbon to be dispersed with exhaust gases.
