Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

DUMPER TRUCK tipping bodies made from Leguval, an unsaturated polyester resin with glassfibre reinforcement are proving their worth.

Bayer AG in Germany has been evaluating these trucks since 1961.

Although they have been carrying chemicals under "tough operating conditions" the polyester bodies have needed no maintenance.

The truck-trailer combinations were, Bayer says, purposely subjected to harsh treatment to establish the limits of their serviceability as soon as possible.

Externally the tipper bodies were hardly affected without corrosion or abrasions although the steel cabs had to be replaced at least once in the same period.

The Bayer material is also in use for other applications in the vehicle industry.

Truck manufacturers such • as Ford and Mercedes/Unimog are using it for some parts of the driver's cab while bodybuilders are using it for refrigerated bodies.
