Faster by-pass

FOUR MONTHS ahead of schedule the 21/2-mile Lindale by-pass, Cumbria, opened yesterday (Thursday). The new road forms part of the comprehensive improvement scheme for the A590 Barrow to Levens Bridgeroute.

The new road will by-pass the Lindale Hill with its bad accident record and heavy traffic will be taken away from the narrow streets of Lindale village.

Remover's tour

MEMBERS of the Institute of Furniture Warehousing and Removing Industry have just returned from a tour of EEC countries.

The 33 members' ooked at marketing, transport and business operations, personnel and training on their seven-day visit and they will be publishing their findings in a report later this year.

Irish services

NATIONAL Carriers have announced new services aimed at the Irish importers and exporters trading with the United Kingdom.

The company is to offer groupage services for companies delivering to more than one address in the rest of Britain and this will operate from Dublin to inland customs clearance depots.

E. H. BRADLEY Engineering has been appointed a DAF Service dealer to operate with Avonmouth Commercials as DAF main dealers for the Somerset, Avon and Gloucester area.

The company will be handling all the maintenance and servicing of DAF trucks in the area plus the handling of the repair and maintenance contracts and spare parts and warranty arrangements.

Dafaid, the DAF 24-hour emergency service, will also be handled by E. H. Bradley.
