A CENTRAL Region committee is to consider plans to build a £15,000 lorry park in Falkirk, which will help to stop heavy vehicles parking in narrow streets.
A roads committee official said it had still to apply for planning permission. Regional representatives will also be meeting Falkirk District Council to discuss the plans.
An official said the idea was to keep lorries out of car parks and away from houses. 'Mainly we want to provide somewhere that lorries can park overnight and not cause a nuisance," he said.
Regional controller of the Freight Transport Association, Jack Welsh, said his organisation was also in favour of the proposal.
