use provisions applicable to foreign traffic circulating in Rumania. Foreign vehicles may operate in Rumania provided they conform with the following maximum sizes and weights:— Height, 3.80m.; width, 2.50m.; length, lorry (2 axles) tIm,, lorry (more than 2 axles) 12m., artic 15m., road train 18m.; weight, road train (on roads open to international traffic) per single axle 6-10 tons, close set axles 4.5-9 tons.
Except where otherwise provided for in bilateral agreements, the transport of goods to or from or in transit across Rumania is subject to authorization. The application should be made to the General Direction of Automobile Transport of the Ministry of Transport and Telecommunications, B-Dul Dinicu Golescu 38, Bucarest, through the "Romtrans" State enterprise for international transport, Galwa Rahovei 196, Bucarest 5.
The application should list the following: Name and address of the road haulage enterprise; registration number of the vehicle and trailer; number of axles (including those of the trailer); maximum payload permissible for the vehicle and trailer; maximum permissible weight of the vehicle and trailer: destination; description of load.
The authorization is generally delivered for a single journey and back.
