New look for TRTA associate membership

ANEW associate membership class is to be

created by the TRTA for nationalized undertakings and statutory bodies, local authorities, and organizations other than Clicence operators, Members in these new categories will be admitted at the discretion of the National Council, which will also determine appropriate scales of subscription. In the case of nationalized industries and statutory undertakings it is expected that a scale according to vehicle strength will be decided, and that in the case of local authorities a sliding scale based on population rather than the number of vehicles operated will be established.

Associate membership will entitle these bodies to all membership services but they will have no voting rights and will be unable to take part in the business of the Association.

Full membership (as at present) will continue to be offered to nationalized undertakings, statutory bodies and local authorities as an alternative to the new form of associate membership.

The third new category of associate membership will include groups such as ferry operators, transport consultants, market research organizations, the technical Press and companies having substantial transport interests hut not operating C-licensed vehicles.
