Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

ACOACH operator alleged at an appeal in Birmingham, fast week, that an incorrect statement by an objector jeopardized his case before the West Midland Licensing Authority last September.

Mr. John Carney, of Rugeley, was appealing against the refusal of the Authority to permit him to remove a restriction that only one passenger should be taken up and set down at the Pillar Box, Armitage Road, and the imposing of an additional condition when granting a licence for the Continuance of an express service.

" My case was jeopardized by the fact that Mr. Knowles, of the Green Bus Service, made a statement which was incorrect when he said he started the service before 1 did. Naturally the Traffic Commissioner would take an important note of the fact."

For the Green Bus Service, it was contended that a service had, in fact, been running for some years before the appellant's application was lodged.

British Railways and the Birmingham and Midland Motor Omnibus Co., Ltd., also objected.

Mr. S. Gibbon, for the Green Bus Service, said: "This application is wholly without merif or substance of any kind. On the evidence the Licensing Authority was fully justified in the course which he took."

Another appeal by Mr. Carney against the refusal of a short period licence for a workers' service between the Pear Tree Farm Estate, Rugeley. and the Market Square, Hedncsford was also heard. British Railways and the Green Bus Service were objectors.
