THE importance of drivers returning their badges to the Traffic Commissioners if the driving licence is not renewed was stressed at Dorchester Police Court on Monday last, when a driver was fined for failing to do so.
The importance of returning these badges, if a licence was not renewed, was stressed, as the regulation was designed to prevent unauthorized persons obtaining badges and driving public-service vehicles on the strength of them.
LEICESTER'S VOTE FOR BUSES.
BY 36 votes to 14, Leicester City ,:ouncil, on Tuesday, adopted the recommendation of the city transport committee, that oil-engined buses, and not trolleybuses, be used to replace trams.
A resolution to refer back the recommendation to obtain a report from the city treasurer, relative to the economical aspects of the two means for transport, was defeated.
