Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

STRATHCLYDE PTE has changed part of its order for 40 Ailsa B55 double-deckers in its 1983 new vehicle programme (CM. December 11).

The order has been reduced to 35, all with Voith gearboxes, and five mid-engined Citybuses will be bought instead of the cancelled front-engined models.

Alexander will body the 35 B55s, as planned, but no final decision has been taken about the Citybuses. Marshall built the body on Strathclyde's prototype, but Alexander is developing a lightweight design which uses different technology.

The Metrobuses and Olympians for Strathclyde will be bodied by MCW and Leyland Bus respectively.
