will debut at the Amsterdam truck show in October. In a bid to woo buyers away from Volvo and Scania it's had a facelift. But with supplies of right-hookers unlikely to hit their stride much before the second quarter of 2006 (when 6x2s become available), Oaf Trucks in Thame will "actively sell the current model for another 12 months" right up to the September 2006 Euro-4 deadline. The two versions will be built alongside each other at Oaf's Eindhoven plant.

The first RHO models will be 4x2 tractors, which continue to be

a minority taste compared to six-wheelers. The latest model is likely to carry a premium of up to 10%, on top of the recent 3% hike on the price of the current model. This is likely to discourage many operators from embracing the latest technology before they have to.

The latest XF95 will be powered by Daf's all-new 13litre MX six-pot which uses selective catalytic reduction (SCR) to clear the Furo-4 emissions barrier. According to insiders, the MX is a "very meaty engine" with a much higher torque rating.
