Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

BY THE HAWK

• The Scarnrnell Owners and Enthusiasts Club has had its first road run, just four months after its formation. At least 20 vehicles and their owners turned up to rumble down the A5 from the Post House at Crick, and the Hawk was there to witness the event.

The club, which already has about 80 members, was set up to bring together everyone interested in the operation, restoration, preservation and display of the marque.

Under the Leyland Daf reorganisation production ceased at the Scammell works at Watford at the end of June; the last vehicle off the line was a Constructor Eight, chassis number El 72969. Construction of future models has been transferred to Leyland.

Club secretary Roger Austin says he wanted the inaugural event to be a big success, so he did not want the club run to be too long.

The Hawk hears that the last model off the line at Wat ford might go to the same customer who bought the very first Scammell from the plant all those years ago. Who that customer is, however, the dealer will not reveal. Anyone interested in joining the Scammell Owners and Enthusiasts Club should contact Austin at Station House, Station Road, Raunds NN9 6BX, phone (0933) 626166.
