1111 West Country-based transport group Wincanton has bought four businesses in a 210 million summer spending spree.

They include a commercial vehicle contract-hire firm, a Volvo truck dealer and a motor aucton site.

Wincanton subsidairy Arlington Motor Holdings has acquired Volvo distributor Rydale Truck and Coach, bringing its total number of outlets to 36. Sixteen of these sell heavy goods vehicles, 29 sell light CVs and three sell PSVs. About 40% of Arlington's business is in commercials.
