3ra ch members are word a out the fate of the rest the money which was colted during the TGWU distea the Night Out Theatre ib i Birmingham last year.

is known that there have nly two major disputes .ce e fund was started but rile the Night Out dispute s s ill going on the drivers re ked to contribute a 5p a week levy on top of union subscriptions to support the strikers.

And in September there was a further appeal for a 50p a week levy to help drivers on strike in support of pay claims in the area.

The men want the auditors to find out what happened to the remainder of the money which also includes a regular fighting fund levy that they have been paying since 1971.

And this week the call for the inquiry was passed without dissention.

This latest news from the Birmingham TGWU is another page in a chapter of growing dissention within the branch which has been mounting ovet the past 18 months.

Dissention has included strikers involved in a sit-in refusing to give Mr Law a hearing when he arrived to mediate in the dispute.

Although he has resigned as branch secretary Mr Law still holds the post of commercial group secretary and is still a powerful man within the union — although there is no doubt that he has lost some of his stature.
