LIFE-LONG railman Bob Reid has taken over the chairmanship of Freightliners with its transfer from National Freight Corporation to British Rail_
A former Southern Region general manager, and more recently executive member of the British Railways Board for marketing, 57-year-old Mr Reid first joined the industry 31 years ago.
He has been involved in both freight and passenger management throughout his career and has served in three of BR's five regions.
