Ron Joice, a Seddon Atkinson test driver, surprised an observer by removing the steering wheel of an eightwheeler and making an adjustment while waiting for the traffic lights to change.
A CM technical editor of some years ago also had a slight contest with the steering wheel of an eightwheeler. As he braced himself for an emergency stop, it came off in his hand. The make is no longer in existence.
