PRELIMINARY guides to revised drivers' hours regulati have been issued by the Department of Transport.
Limited quantities of A New Guide to Goods Vehicle Driv Hours — covering the Drivers' Hours (Harmonisation Community Rules) Regulations 1978 and the Community R Transport Rules (Exemptions) Regulations 1978 — are avaiL free from all 12 Traffic Area offices in the country.
These specify the conditions covering goods vehicle dril who change from vehicles covered by EEC directive 543/61 those outside its scope, and the exemptions within the UK mil apply to drivers of certain vehicles.
A permanent version will be produced later this year.
