• The question of industrial relations at the Falkirk coachbuilding works of Walter Alexander and Co Ltd has been referred to the Commission on Industrial Relations by Mr Maurice Macmillan, Secretary of State for Employment. The company supplies bus bodies for Glasgow and Edinburgh Corporations. There have been several disputes and strikes at the plant.
