Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

ASIX-WHEELER has been added to its D Series range by Ford Motor Co. Ltd. Although called the D500 6 by 2, the model does not appear to be based on this 8.1 tons gross chassis. But the tyre size is the same-7.50-16 radial-steel-cord —which gives it the same loading height of 3ft from the ground to the top of the body floor.

Gross weight rating of the D500 6 by 2 is 12 tons. Wheelbase is 12ft 6m and the model has been developed by Ford's special vehicle order department in conjunction with County Commercial Cars Ltd.

Schweppes order

It is being marketed by Ford and initial orders are reported to have been placed by Schweppes with whom initial development work has been undertaken.

The front axle will be plated for 2.8 tons and the bogie 10 tons. With an unladen chassis/cab weight of 3.5 tons and a 14cwt body allowance, a payload of about 7.75 tons should be possible.

The 330 cu.in. 115 b.h.p. gross diesel used in the D600 is employed with the fivespeed wide-ratio synchromesh gearbox offered as an option on that chassis.

Braking is by a dual-line air-hydraulic system with separate booster for the trailing axle and the handbrake to the rear axles is power-assisted. The County four-spring suspension system is used in which the rear ends of the springs on each side are connected to give no-hop characteristics.
