MRR. A. (PETER) MORRIS (left), who has worked in the oil industry since 1956 has left Shell Mex and BP Ltd. to set up his own transport consultancy business. Mr. Morris joined National Benzole from the RAF in 1956. From 1957 until 1963 he was the company's transport manager responsible for a fleet of 450 road tankers and 312 cars as well as two commercial vehicle workshops.
During his period there, National Benzoic introduced the first 3,000gal. road tanker using an Albion Reiver chassis, and were the first to put a 2,000gal. tank on a BMC seven-tanner.
Following reorganization on the operations side of the Shell Mex and BP group, Mr Morris was made responsible for the operation and organization of the Group's car fleet of some 3,000 vehicles. He was also responsible for the engineering side of airfield refuellers and developed a new type of automatic washing plant for road tankers.
Mr. Morris's new companies, Sirroma Transport Ltd. and Sirroma Fabrications, Ltd., of 82, Beacon Way, Rickmansworth, offer a comprehensive service to commercial vehicle and car fleet users.
This ranges from workshop design and construction, plant servicing and the servicing and repair of vehicles, to the organization and operation of commercial vehicle and car fleets.
