Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

PROBABLY the biggest, widest, heaviest load yet transported by road in Britain. That is how this haul is described by Mr. A. C. MacKinlay, Pickfords Ltd. Glasgow branch manager.

The distance: one mile. Time on the move: two hours. Says Mr. MacKinlay:— "We were contracted to Alexander Stephen and Sons Ltd., shipbuilders, Linthouse, Glasgow, SW!, to transport the top bow unit of a 10,000-ton fast refrigerating ship, being built for Port Line, from the fabricating bay to alongside the bow at the building berth. "The unit was 40ft long, 40ft wide, 30ft high, weighed 43 tons and was carried on a Crane 110-ton multi-axled trailer.

"The vehicle was positioned last Saturday morning and loading was completed that day. Movement took place without a hitch on Sunday.

"We have undertaken heavy haulage for Alexander Stephen since early this century, and it cannot be overstressed that in a movement of this nature complete co-operation between the contractor and shipyard management is of supreme importance. "The successful conclusion reached with this, and many other intricate movements (the funnel for a completed similar ship was carried at 34ft long, 20ft wide, 28ft high), is in no small manner due to the excellent efforts of the shipyard staff."
