It is stated from Akron that negotiations for the lease of a million acres in Liberia for rubber-growing have been virtually concluded between the Firestone Tyre Co. and Mr. Edwin Barclay, the Liberian Secretary of State. It is learned from an • authoritative source that a 100,000,000 dollars corporation will be formed to operate the plantation on a scale which will ensure American rubber manufacturers an adequate supply.
