During the year from July 1st, 1924, to June 30th, 1925, the United States Bureau of Foreign and Domestic Commerce handled 2,041,250 commercial inquiries from dealers throughout the world. Although the total number of inquiries was about 80 per cent, more than those made in the previous year, the ratio of applications for information covering motor products increased in a like proportion. B28 During the past year 181,606 requests for information were received from motor dealers alone, against 105,459 in the previous year. From these figures it will be seen that one out of every eleven inquiries received related to motor products. According to the statistics which have been prepared this record was unapproached by any other industry.
In addition to this total, 28,620 re
quests for information covering the subject of transportation were received by the Bureau during the year. Taking the regional applications as a basis, about 40 per cent. of the inquiries received came from Western Europe ; 20 per cent. from Latin America ; and 15 per cent. from the Far East. The remaining 25 per cent. came from North America, the Near "East, and Eastern Europe.
