• MAN produced 34,000 trucks and buses in the 1990-91 fiscal year, beating the previous year's total by 3,358. It also expects to reach a turnover of £1.96bn (DM 5.7bn), up from £1.66bn.
MAN's Steyr subsidiary plans to build 3,400 trucks in the coming year as well as assembling 2,200 MAN vehicles; the operation contributed £300m to the group's turnover.
German sales have risen by an "outstanding" 44%, counterbalancing the downturn in neighbouring countries.
Order books are healthy, with the MAN Nutzfahrzeuge subgroup taking i2bn-worth, and Steyr £1.46bn.
