• Wilmslow-based manufacturer Holt Lloyd has announced "the strongest product and promotional package in the company's history" with new products in the fields of body repair, fuel additives, cooling, wax polish and air fresheners.

Managing director John Parker says: "The products represent an excellent base for growth in 1987 and are undoubtedly the strongest range of products ever launched by the company."

To support the new range, Holt Lloyd, British subsidiary of Holt Lloyd International, will be spending £2.5 million this year on advertising and promotional activity.

Holt Lloyd claims it has been market leader since bolts started in the Britain over 50 years ago. Names in its portfolio include HoIts, Turtle Wax, Redex, Flexy, Dupli-Color, Molyslip and LPS.

In car filler paste, too, the company says it has a breakthrough in No Mix, which requires no separate hardener and can be used straight from the tube, The resin-based compound hardens by the action of ultra-violet rays in natural daylight.

A new engine coolant top-up solution is aimed at the eight million vehicles with sealed engine cooling systems.

Flexy, celebrating its golden jubilee in the market and the world's largest finisher of chamois leather with an output equivalent to over one million sheep, is providing two synthetic versions: a perforated, PU coated non-woven cloth and a woven Chamex in a plastic container.
