• Over the next few months 371 new Mercedes-Benz vehicles will be joining Salford Van Hire's rental fleet in a deal worth 210 million.
The order marks Salford Van Hire's 21st anniversary and is the company's biggest purchase to date from any manufacturer. Managing director Rafaello Bacci says the choice is based on analysis of vehicle running costs and preferences shown by customers for specific makes.
The vehicles range from 207 panel vans to 1635 38tonne tractor units. Once finished in Salford's new livery they will be based at the firm's depots in Manchester and Leeds and maintained at selected service points nationwide.
Salford's rental fleet is over 2,000 vehicles strong.
