ATTEMPTS to interest schoolchildren in London Transport more as an employer than as an object of vandalism have, it seems, not been unanimously welcomed.
The careers mistress at a south London high school for girls observed with nostriltwitching haught: "This is an academic school. Fifty per cent of our girls go straight on to university. We rather expect our girls to go for top jobs, not have dealings with a bus."
Dash it, chaps, a girl doesn't waste the best years of her life swotting for a degree, to spend the rest of them screaming; "No standing inside. Room on top."
