SMITHS Industries have acquired the air deflector business Uniroyal.
The transaction, which took place on April 1, involves the purchase of all manufacturing, tooling and distribution rights for the Uniroyal deflector.
Smiths have also taken out a licence to manufacture the device under Uniroyal patents for world-wide markets with the exception of the USA, Canada and Mexico.
The new venture is seen by Smiths as the first of a series of commercial vehicle equipment lines planned for future development by Smith tachograph outlets.
It is claimed that the Uniroyal deflector business has an annual turnover approaching £500,000.
