Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

Rabbit's hop

THE Volkswagen Rabbit pickup has been imported from the US by Surrey dealer Duncan Hamilton of Byfleet. As it is a commercial vehicle, the pickup need not conform to the requirements of UK Type Approval regulations but is still subject to Construction and Use Regulations concerning lighting, seat belts, window glass and so on.

In its standard US form the Rabbit does not meet all UK standards, and it could well be expensive to adapt it.

It is an offence to drive any vehicle on the public highway, which does not conform to the Construction and Use Regulations.

We understand these vehicles, based on the Golf saloon, are not being sold with full documentation, and will not be covered by VW agents for warranty repairs.
