• The Health and Safety Executive has begun investigations into how a man was crushed to death at a NorthEast haulage depot.
It is thought that John Young of Kirby Hill, Boroughbridge, died within seconds of being crushed by a pipe after it fell from a lorry in Wilson's transport depot on the airport industrial estate, Dalton, near Thirsk.
The police say they will be conducting their own inquiry.
