RICHARDSON BROS, the vehicle distributors of Oldbury, West Midlands, were at the NEB in London yesterday discussing plans which they have to enter the vehicle building industry. They will be meeting with established manufacturers at Earls Court this week to take their plans a stage further.
The twin brothers Don and Roy, who have built a highly successful distributor business, announced their plans to enter the manufacturing market last week. They plan to produce 1,000 heavy vehicles year in the 16-32-ton-gvl range. Production will tak place at factories to be built o a 61/2-acre site which the acquired from the British Stec Corporation.
According to Roy Richard son, the company was no seeking financial assistanci from the NEB. They want onli, approval to go ahead with tht project which will cost then .E2m. It is planned to buy it engines and components am build the chassis and bodies a Oldbury.
