Earls Court for the Commercial Motor Show — the great day for truck and bus operators and drivers.
It will be officially opened by the Duke of Kent at noon, although the first paying customers will be allowed in at 9.30am.
The eight-day Show, organised by the SMMT, is expected to attract 90,000 visitors from all over the world and they will have the chance to see the best that Britain and its foreign competitiors can offer.
Home manufacturers will be well represented, and that's not surprising since last year Britain built and exported more commercial vehicles than any other country in Europe.
More new trucks were also sold here than in Continental countries. In the first half of this year, despite a 10 per cent drop in the home market anti 7 per cent drop in output, exports have continued to surge.
For the first time in fact Britain exported more trucks — 105,000 (up 16 per cent) worth a record £286m — than total sales in Britain of 95,000.
"The British vehicles which are already increasing their share of the world's rapidly rising truck market will be on show at Earls Court," said Mr David Plastow, president of the SMMT.
"So too will be the opposition, in record numbers this year reflecting the confidence of ours and the world's industries in the future of road transport."
The Show opens daily from 9.30am to 7pm from September 24 till October 2.
