NATIONAL BUS looks like seeing delivery of the vast majori0 of its 1977 bus order actually in 1977.

Leyland has assured the company that all 593 Leyland Nationals will be delivered together with the 200 Leopard and 89 Bristol LH chassis.

Delivery of 506 Bristol VRT SL3s has been promised 133 February 1978 if Easterr Coach Works bodies are speci. fied by National Bus.

Final delivery date of tht complete Leopards and LH: depends on the allocation tc bodybuilders which is yet to be announced. Most builders have full order books for about 18 months from now.

The small volume of 197E NBC orders has allowed both Leyland and Eastern Coachworks to catch up to leave only a backlog of Bristol VRTs to be delivered.

The 200 coach chassis ordered by NBC for 1977 suggests only a very small order is to follow from National Travel. If it cannot hire sufficient vehicles from the bus companies then NT can be expected to lease further vehicles rather than purchase them outright.

The only chassis for 1977 to be ordered from outside British Leyland are 10 Ford R1014, three Ford R1114 and three Bedford YMT.
