• SELNEC PTE has improved its engineering situation, although only on the basis of considerably increased expenditure. In the middle of 1970, the percentage of spare buses carried for maintenance reasons was approximately 19 per cent. In the middle of 1971, this percentage had beer reduced to 16.3 per cent, which reflects an improvement in the maintenance situation.
Introduction of work study schemes proceeding and the executive anticipates r further improvement as this prograrrune develops. The northern division is at present carrying out a study of fleet utilization am the variable factors in terms of overhaul depots and staff, to ascertain the optimun programme for obtaining the mmdmun service from the lowest number of vehicles.
