• At a meeting of the Grimsby and Cleethorpes joint transport committee last week Mr A. Smith, the transport manager, reported that the cost of single-deck buses had risen by more than £4000 in two and a half years and, due to these soaring costs, the decision of new vehicles for 1973-74 would be deferred. Stressing the importance of increasing the life factor of their vehicles he said that five double-deckers purchased earlier in the year cost £9482 each and the present price was £11,584, while a single decker which cost £6656 in February 1969 now cost £10,714.
