Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• From October 1 the minimum height above the road for electricity lines will be reduced from 20ft to 1911. Operators of vehicles with a travelling height in excess of 16ft 6in. should check the whereabouts of these lines with area electricity boards before planning their routes.

The DoE advises operators to give at least 14 days' notice to the CEGB regions, area electricity boards and Post Office telecommunications regions through whose areas the vehicle will pass. The notice should give travelling heights and the detailed route and also show the authorities to which it is being circulated. If the operator knows of electrical lines or overhead cables which cross the route, the notice should draw attention to them.
